Newsletter December 14, 2015

Greetings Parents! Hope everyone had fun this summer - seems winter just doesn't want to get here...surely that is okay with us all...!!

Oh, and by the way, if you see someone without a smile, give them yours...!

Curriculum Established - Refinement Continues

The new curriculum initiated in September 2015 has been quite a success. Parents, teachers, and of course most importantly, the children, have welcomed the new curriculum with much enthusiasm.

The increased structure and academic focus has really been popular with the children (at least the vast majority). They are enjoying the learning and feel proud and accomplished when they are able to recite their lessons for the week with ease by the time Friday rolls around.

We have been focusing on the 2, 3 and 4 year old rooms over the last few months to make sure that the academic routine and the daily schedule functions well and maximizes learning. Over the next two months we will focus on the new 2 year old room and also the 1 year old rooms.

In addition to the new curriculum, we have ordered a lot of new furniture, dry erase boards, computers, and multiple varieties of supplies to enhance the learning experience and the environment. You may also have noticed the new wooden floors in the hallways.

As we look forward to 2016 we anticipate a significant increase in our children's reading and mathematical skills. These are critical to acquire as early as possible so that they can build on this solid foundation to master more complex concepts when in elementary and secondary school.

Any suggestions parents might have regarding the curriculum are most welcome and appreciated.

New Position For Academic Development

Effective December 14, 2015, Tiffany Ngaya has been appointed to the newly created position of Assistant Director for Academics. Ms. Ngaya has a bachelor’s degree in Education and Early Childhood Education and has significant experience teaching children of all ages. She will be overseeing the continued refinement of the curriculum, teacher training, and all other aspects related to the academic development of our children. Please join us in congratulating Ms. Ngaya! We have high expectations of her and are completely confident that she will do a great job.

Ms. Dynesha Campbell will no longer be at The Primeron and left for personal reasons. The following new teachers have joined us:

1. Taylor Lipscomb - Infant room
2. Stacy Otis - Early 2 year old room
3. Sherry Eldridge - Toddler room
4. David Yoh - Before-After primarily

Parent Feedback Every Week Instituted

You will have noticed that when you come to the front desk, usually to make a payment, you are asked to give us a rating between 1 and 10 regarding our performance for the previous week.

This is a new quality improvement program that we have instituted over the last month. There are few, if any, organizations who invite you to criticize them every week...we do! We feel that this is the only way we can continuously improve and, more importantly, proactively seek and rectify nascent issues or concerns.

Our goal, moving forward, is to document your concerns, if any, analyze them, and provide a solution within 24 hours. Occasional issues might require more time but we are confident that most can be resolved within 24 hours.

As we are just putting this ambitious goal into our normal operational processes, it might take a few weeks to completely work out the optimal processes and may not, right away, be able to resolve all issues within 24 hours. However, by 2016 our goal is to be able to do that for the vast majority of issues that may arise.
